FUTURE FOOD SOLUTIONS PROGRAMMES

Future Food Solutions was founded 8 years ago to help improve the resilience of food and farming supply chains. To achieve this, they have developed a number of key programmes

A collaborative supply chain approach to deliver more resilient supply chains for agricultural commodities. Working with brands and more than 300 broad acre farmers since 2014.

  • Support for the whole supply chain – Encouraging collaboration that results in measurable benefits for all partners

  • Champions of Innovation – Promoting technology and novel production methods that minimise cost, maximise production and increase shared profit

  • Focus on the key inputs – Conserving resources today, to ensure the viability of our food supply in the future

  • Profiting through sustainability – Developing a resilient food and farming industry that invests in the environment, making space for nature to thrive

A collaborative geographical approach to improve soil health and water quality through more sustainable and regenerative farming practices. This project where we are working in partnership with Yorkshire Water delivers cultural change at a farm level, across a number of river catchments.

  • Project Pilots around York and in the Humber Region

  • Improving soil health by increasing organic matter content

  • Better surface water quality by reducing erosion and keeping soil in fields

  • Better groundwater quality by improving nitrogen use efficiency

  • Improved knowledge exchange by encouraging farmers to collaborate and learn from each other
